About Leigh

About Leigh

Leigh believes that movement is meant to be joyful and that understanding how an injury is impacting a patient's life is the key to finding the best treatment approach for each person.

A recent transplant from Alberta, Leigh is focused on balancing parenting and student life. They are enjoying wearing shorts year-round to run and will definitely go to the beach no matter the weather.

Balancing relief with durable results

As a performer, athlete, and in everyday life, Leigh strives to find balance between immediate needs and long-term solutions. Treatment is a partnership between patient and practitioner to craft meaningful solutions. They realize that each patient arrives for treatment wanting relief from their issue - be it within sports, work, or daily life - but ensuring that the end result will be durable is just as important.

Preparation is the foundation of success

Their areas of interest include hip and knee replacements - both pre/post-operative and later stage/return to activity, along with endurance sports like distance running and triathlon. Leigh has been privileged to work with both competitive and developing athletes at the national level and enjoys the process of return to sport, no matter what level the athlete is working at.

Additionally, working with the LGBTQIA2S+ community, especially around preparation and recovery from gender affirming surgery, is an area of personal significance and professional passion. Providing safe and authentic care is essential to their practice and they are committed to holding safe space for individuals who might be otherwise reluctant to seek care.

Outside the clinic, Leigh is probably at the gym, playing DnD, or attempting to convince someone to go whitewater kayaking (aka saving-them-from-drowning when they fail their combat roll). As Leigh grew up on the prairies, Vancouver Island remains breathtakingly beautiful and it's pretty easy to make them say "wow!" if you share any kind of adventure story with them.
